Improper Water Chemistry
Not having your water chemicals at the right levels can damage traditional plaster pool surfaces. Wait! Just because the summer’s winding down doesn’t mean you should drain your pool. An inground pool was built to hold water, and if you drain your pool groundwater can rise and actually push your pool out of the ground. An empty pool can leave the finish vulnerable to damage from debris, the sun, and a pool popping out the ground like a boat on rising water.
Hitting the Golden Years
The hard truth is that pool finishes don’t live forever, as much as we all want them to. A typical plaster pool finish last about 12 to 14 years, while a pebble or similar style finish can last over 20 years.
